NEW TRACK | JEAN DAWSON - "BLAME BY ME"

Jean Dawson follows up his artistic video “Memory is Software” with this new wave track titled “Blame By Me”.

The song opens up with Jean singing in Spanish before hitting the very visual first verse filled with images of blue jeans, sunsets, and cigarettes. The song then breaks out into what seems to be a drug-addled, attitude-filled chorus where Jean is making it clear that he isn’t one to fuck with. The instrumentation tends to cause a feeling of hysteria while subtle but aggressive lyrics push through the cloudiness. At this point as the second verse plays out we notice a tug-of-war happening between the soft and sincere verses and the bravado-filled choruses. We get a sense that Jean’s upbringing was filled with questionable surroundings, enough to produce these visuals or thoughts of dying in the back of a car. I find that Jean excels at taking these messed up scenarios and converts them quite well into digestible pieces of art that anyone can enjoy.
